It’s never too late to make an introduction, is it?
While you may have already found some information in About Me page, I wanted this post to be a little more personal and wanted to give you an overview of my background and my mission.
My name is Natella Mammadova. I was born in Baku, Azerbaijan on November, 1 1986 (01.11.1986). 111 turned out to be a very important number for me, it follows me everywhere throughout my life and you may see it in most of my social media accounts.
Since I can remember myself I was drawn towards arts. I loved reading books and I just couldn’t part with a good book until I read it to the last page, forgetting about food and sleep. I loved writing too and kept online and offline journals throughout my life. I was unconditionally in love with drawing and painting and never missed my art class no matter what the weather was like. I also finished the musical school majoring in piano. And I was part of “Seyyah” dance group and had amazing experience visiting countries like Bulgaria, Poland and Turkey with Azerbaijani national dance performances and we also had many appearances on the national television. I had amazing childhood and I’m very grateful to my parents who made all of this possible.
In 2002-2003 I participated in high school exchange program and spent a year in Parker, Colorado. I loved my time there and having international experience made a big impact on my life.
Then my life took a totally different direction. When I came back home I entered Azerbaijan State Oil Academy and graduated in 2007 majoring in Economy, International Economic Relations and Management. During my third year at the university, I started working for Procurement and Supply Chain Management department of BP Azerbaijan. I spent 8 years in the corporate world and it felt like I went through survival school. I dreaded going to work each morning because of atmosphere of negativity, rumors and scandals, unfair treatment of locals by expatriate management, incompetent local management and many other problems. But it wasn’t all that bad. I met a lot of wonderful people and made great friends. I received incomparable work experience and training as I always tried to get the best out of every situation.
Sometime in 2009 I watched “The Secret” movie which slowly transformed my life. I cannot say that I was a negative person before, but after watching the movie I went on a journey in pursuit of happiness and self-discovery and I realized how many false beliefs and blocks I had that kept me from living up to my full potential.
At the beginning, the road was hard and bumpy. I changed several workplaces and still couldn’t find a place that I would enjoy. I lost a lot of friends and had some heartbreaks. So many times I felt like I’m a failure and almost gave up. But with the help of God / Universe / Creative Source, as the phoenix rises up from the ashes, I was reborn each time better and stronger.
I’ve read a lot of books and taking in any information available related to self-enrichment, success and personal development and I started this blog to keep all my notes related to this subject online. That way they were with me wherever I went. I decided to keep them public as I thought that others may find the information, links and other things I share useful.
With time the topics I write about expanded to show all of my interests and here are a few of them:
