I don’t have to say much about this track – just enjoy smooth vocals, really nice old-school beats and synths!
This new track from Akabu features the soaring neo soul croons of Alex Mills (who you might recognize from Miguel Campbell’s ‘Something Special’).
The Joey Negro Strip Mix is unashamedly feel-good with its bouncing, skewed and spraying synths and driving bassline, with pristine production putting many imitators to shame.
Am I lucky or what, second day in a row I find a remix to Whitney Houston’s songs. Whitney Houston + Deep House = So much love! 🙂
I just couldn’t be happier! 🙂
“Love Will Save The Day”
Sometimes life can make you crazy It can really put your body to the test You try so hard to make sure everything goes right And you find you’ve only wound up with a mess It’s a common situation Even though you feel abandoned and alone Child, you ain’t the first to experience the hurt So don’t panic when you hit the danger zone
[Chorus:]
What you need’s a little change of heart Forget this fear and frustration Love will always play the greater part When your battles wear you down Here’s my advice – When you’re feeling down and out And you’ve got troubles on you mind Love will save the day When you’re feeling full of doubt And fear has got you in a bind Love will save the day When your worlds falling apart All you have to do is say a prayer And love will save the day There’s an answer in your heart So let your light shine on my dear And love will save the day Love will save the day[X4]
Many things in this world bring you down It’s a wonder you can make it through the day Well, you can’t sleep cause your problems are to deep And there’s always something getting in the way And when you turn on the evening news Mass confusion is the only thing you see Well there’s no question that we need a new direction Cause we all could use some peace and harmony
[chorus]
Love is gonna save the day You’ve gotta believe it
Whitney Houston is and always will be a legend to me. I admire her voice and rebirth of her “Your love is my love” in this amazing house arrangement is an awesome gift. I love both the original version and the remixes and MK’s remix is one of my favorites.
Loving this new track recently released by Defected Records. I admire old-school beats and soft vocals.
Following the success of their ‘Earl’ EP on Switzerland’s Hive Records, Berlin-based House staple Oliver $ reunites with Swiss Jazz House aficionado Jimi Jules to bring their anticipated debut release on Defected. ‘Pushing On’ opens with an infectious percussive medley composed of tropical triangles and melodious 808-like cowbells. With the gradual introduction of the moody, Frankie Knuckles inspired, bass line and tailing piano chords, the track slowly transforms into an energetic homage to classic Chicago House. Quick to take centre stage the track also features dusky vocal samples from Quantic Soul Orchestra, merging effortlessly with the wispy cymbal crashes, the song’s title and central lyrical theme, “Pushing On”, falls and confidently rises to drive the track to its spirited climax. And for those who don’t want the vocals there’s a dub thrown in for good measure. Already household names in their home countries, ‘Pushing On’ is sure set to solidify Oliver $ and Jimi Jules as international House providers.
