Song of the day: Miley Cyrus – Climb

The Climb (song)
The Climb (song) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what?s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause

There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I’m going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith

Album of the day: G I R L by Pharrell Williams

Pharrell Williams is one of my favorite artists. His and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” was a theme song of last summer, then was “Blurred Lines” with Robin Thicke and after that absolutely amazing masterpiece “Happy”.

If I could select a theme song for One Happy Blog and as a soundtrack of my life, that would certainly be “Happy”. I cannot describe enough how much I love it! It’s lyrics, groovy music, to which you just can’t help, but dance and amazing 24 hour music video! This song has been on repeat and writing, doing stuff around the house and painting while listening to it, has been awesome and fun!

24 Hours of Happy!

The phrase that always cheers me up when I hear it is “Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof!” 🙂 Inspired by The Daily Post – Pick Me Up.

Of course, I was super excited when I heard about his recent album G I R L and Pharrell did not disappoint me. I rarely buy the entire album, but this one is so worth it. Every track is absolutely amazing and one track perfectly flows into another and creates a story. I love Pharrell’s vocals and his collaboration with Justin Timberlake (my love) and Alicia Keys (another love) is also awesome!

Ok, less talking… a song is worth a thousand words, so I’m sharing you my favorites from his album and if you would like to buy the album on iTunes, here is the link.

Have a happy day!

App of the day: Deezer

I’m getting more and more lucky each day – because there’s another music app that I’ve enjoyed lately – Deezer.

Deezer is a good alternative to Spotify, if you also live in one of the countries where Spotify is not available. It has a good choice of artists and albums, maybe their library is not as huge as Spotify’s, but there’s still a lot of music to listen to.

It is easy-to-use and you can use it in offline mode (lovely isn’t it?). You can like songs, artists, create playlists – most of the basic features that are available in any music player. And there’s also Flow -> it plays music similar to what you liked. And there are also different radio channels based on genre.

You can try the app first few months for free and then sign up for a paid subscription if you like.

This is the main screen and the Flow feature I mentioned. You can also start the Search from here.

Music Flashback: John Barry – James Bond Theme

Bond.......James Bond.......on the job!

Love this classic theme from the greatest spy movie of all times!

The “James Bond Theme” is the main theme of all the James Bond films and has featured in every one since ‘Dr. No’ in 1962.

Monty Norman has been credited with writing the “James Bond Theme”, and has received royalties since 1962. Norman collected around £485,000 in royalties between the years 1976 and 1999[1] For Dr. No, the tune was arranged[2] by John Barry, who would later go on to compose the soundtracks for eleven James Bond films.

Application of the day: SoundCloud

SoundCloud (Photo credit: ▓▒░ TORLEY ░▒▓)

SoundCloud recently became one of my favorite iPhone apps. I’ve been registered on for a while now, but I used it mainly to upload my mixes and didn’t come around to try the app.

Now, SoundCloud serves as a great online music player, when I get tired of my music on the phone and want to explore something new.

SoundCloud has tons of music, especially electronic and you can follow your favorite artists and djs to stay up to date with their latest songs and mixes.

Also, one of the features I especially enjoy, is that the search is not limited to tracks only, you can find playlists and mixes. For example, if you want to find artists that have similar music taste with you, you can enter the track name that you enjoy in the search field, and you will not get only the track itself, but also all mixes where this track has been used. I found a lot of great djs that might be not so popular and mainstream, but still pretty awesome and the names I didn’t hear about before.

One thing I especially love about SoundCloud, that it doesn’t eat that much traffic as YouTube does and you can switch to another app or lock the screen and the music will still play in the background.

This is how the lock screen looks, it has main play / rewind/ fast-forward and volume buttons and album artwork.

Music find of the day: Akabu feat Alex Mills “Everybody Wants Something” Joey Negro Strip Mix

I don’t have to say much about this track – just enjoy smooth vocals, really nice old-school beats and synths!

This new track from Akabu features the soaring neo soul croons of Alex Mills (who you might recognize from Miguel Campbell’s ‘Something Special’).

The Joey Negro Strip Mix is unashamedly feel-good with its bouncing, skewed and spraying synths and driving bassline, with pristine production putting many imitators to shame.

Released: 1st April 2013

Radio Station of the day – Lider FM

I’m always hungry for new music and love exploring new stations and new tracks and music videos. Lately, I’ve fallen in love with the local radio station – Lider FM.  In the car I prefer listening to the music from the flash drive, however if you find yourself stuck in the traffic, this station might be your perfect companion as it really helps to calm down and relax. They play jazz, jazzy house, lounge, chill-out and ambient and all these styles perfectly suit my mood and cold and dreamy days of winter.

I listen to Lider FM through the TuneIn app from my iPhone and iPad and there are also thousands of web radio websites that stream this station online. I love the pause function as it allows me to skip the news and enjoy smooth and relaxing music once again.
