One Happy List

A lot of times when you find yourself being sad, filled with anger or other negative emotions, you want to escape and return to the positive state of mind, but don’t know how. Everything around seems to bother and annoy you even more. In times like this, I find it useful to turn to my Happy List for the things and activities that prove themselves to work. Everyone’s list is different, but you may find my Happy List useful to build your own. So, here we go:
1. Breathing – Sometimes going outside for a couple of minutes or just inhaling and exhaling deeply and slowly Β help to relax and take a different perspective at the situation.
2. Taking a shower – I’m a water sign, so everything that has to do with water, whether drinking it, swimming in it, or just taking a bath or shower helps me to get my balance and harmony back. I also have this little tradition of visualizing all my problems and worries dissolve in the drain and new fresh and clean magic energy pouring over me.
3. Dancing – Now, put on some nice music and twerk πŸ˜€ (I thought I’d never use that word, but it seems proper for the context) My current list of cheerful songs:
Number 1 – Pharell – Happy
Number 2 – Pitbull feat. Ke$ha – Timber
Number 3 – Robin Thicke feat. Pharell and T.I. – Blurred lines

4. Looking at beautiful inspiring pictures – Whether it is a folder on your computer, favorite Instagram accounts or pins on Pinterest take some time to look, dream and enjoy. I like to look at the pet pictures (they’re guaranteed to make you smile) or beautiful locations and dream about travels and adventures.

Please tell me what is on your Happy List, I’d love to know.

Peace starts with a smile.

The Power of Negative Thinking

A couple of days ago I suffered from terrible headache. I was surfing the Internet, browsing different motivational and positive thinking blogs, when I stumbled upon the blog below. Right before I opened it, I remembered the suggestion I read in one of the self-help books I read recently. Their advice was to ask your subconsciousness: “By what behavior did I attract this disease / ache?” So, I asked myself and the answer that I got was that I resist negative thoughts too much. This resistance created tension in my shoulders and upper body, which slowed blood circulation to my head, resulting in my headache. You can imagine my surprise when I opened the blog and read the post that was so in line with the answer I received from my subconsciousness. But then again, there are miracles everywhere, if you only are willing to see them.

What I noted to myself after reading this post is that it’s very important to not resist the negative thoughts. By resisting you’re creating more situations where you have to resist them. It’s better to acknowledge the fact, grasp the root cause of that negative emotion / feeling / thought and make a change. For me, it was and still is making a peace with someone who hurt me in the past. For quite some time I’ve been resisting the thoughts about him and living like the situation never happened and tried to be positive instead. What I realized is that I should uncover something I was hiding from myself, acknowledge the fact of what happened, forgive the person who wronged me and make peace with my past. Sometimes, we hide dead bodies of the past under the layer of positivity, but it’s better to look into the eye of the problem and solve it once and for all than to fear that the mistakes and hurt of the past will haunt you again.

By the way, my headache miraculously disappeared right after reading the post.

May you always be blessed with love, joy and happiness!

I love …

In many LOA and positive thinking books that I read, one of the main suggestions is to concentrate on the things that you love and to keep your attention away from what you don’t like. Taking this advice, I decided to record the things that I love throughout the day and then post it here. I’m sure that this small exercise will keep me on the positive track and will bring me closer to my wishes coming true!

So, I love …

  • clean cars
  • my cell phone and it’s cover
  • smell of flowers and grass
  • walking alone
  • sunny warm weather
  • nicely dressed people
  • green light turning on as I walk to cross the road
  • cute cats
  • beautiful big old trees
  • meeting friends
  • seeing happy children
  • windless summer nights
  • flowers and trees in the park
  • clean roads
  • watching children play
  • walking so much that it feels like I’ve done full workout at the gym
  • seeing couples in love with each other
  • watching animation on Flame Towers
  • living in a secure and quiet area
  • my car
  • fountains
  • sitting on a bench in the park doing nothing
  • thinking nice thoughts
